Errachidia: the opening ceremony of the International Symposium on Computational Mathematics and Engineering Sciences

On Thursday, March 3rd, 2016, the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies in Errachidia initiated the activities of the international symposium, which was organized at the initiative of the Department of the Mathematics Institution aforementioned in order to examine the computational mathematics and engineering sciences at the theoretical level and areas of functioning and the results of the leaders in this field of scientific research.

This meeting was held in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of Errachidia along with the Prefect of the Draa Region, the Governor of Errachidia province, the President of  Moulay Ismail University, the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council, Mr. Vice-President of the Regional Council, along with the heads of foreign affairs in the region and a group of teacher researchers and Moroccan expatriates and expert professors from various countries (Turkey-Tunisia-Algeria-Pakistan-South Africa- Kuwait-Egypt-Malaysia ). It should be that a number of  local and international PhD students also participated in this event.

The meeting opened up with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and a speech given by the professor researcher Zakia Hammouche on behalf of the organizing committee, who explained the aims for that meeting was organized and she expressed her gratitude to the local and foreign participants who took the trouble of traveling to participate in this scientific event.

In his speech, after welcoming the guests, the President of Moulay Ismail University, Mr. Hassane Sahbi affirmed the importance of this meeting, which is considered a link between experts and researchers in the field of mathematics coming from various friendly countries of Morocco, and also expressed the importance of mathematics and the investment in the field of Sciences and technologies on the grounds that it constitutes the base of scientific research. In this context, he stated that mathematics is strongly present in all fields and that Morocco ranks high in mathematics and engineering sciences.

Professor Sahbi added that the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies has contributed since its creation to enabling more local and international framework actors. He, then, stated that Moulay Ismail University is composed of nine university institutions with an estimated 60,000 enrolled students. He also thanked the heads of these academic institutions on the efforts made to raise the level of training and concluded by congratulating the members of the organizing committee and all the participants in the organization of this important scientific forum.

In his intervention, the Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Mohamed Ait Hammou also welcomed the guests and distinguished members of the official delegation, headed by the Prefect of the Draa Tafilalet region, all the present heads of foreign affairs, all the educational and administrative staff and all the students that attended the conference. He also welcomed all the professor researchers coming from different countries valuing all conclusions and recommendations that will emerge from this important meeting and investment to contribute to the development of scientific research. He also thanked the members of the organizing committee, which has devoted considerable effort to organize this event, which represents a platform for sharing experiences and expertise in the field of mathematics and science Engineering.

The Dean concluded his speech by some words of prayers for the sake of the Commander Believers, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and all the noble royal family.

In their respective speeches, Professor Hassan Bolut from Frat University of Turkey and Professor Abdo Otinkana coming from South Africa both expressed their joy to be in Morocco and that they will contribute to this meeting through the provision of scientific programs on the theme of this meeting, accordingly to the requirements set forth in the partnership agreement between the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies and the University Frat Turkey. On this occasion, many souvenirs were handed to the participating overseas universities.

In the end of the ceremony, during the tea break, which was organized in honor of the guests, a smart car invented by the outstanding student Abdul Aziz from the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of  Errachidia was showcased.

Afterwards, the participants visited the Sciences Laboratory of the Department of Physics, on the sidelines of this meeting, which will run throughout the four-day program including seven referential lectures and 12 parallel workshops, along with poster sessions for completed scientific research and the ones in progress. The ceremony concluded with a collective exploratory trip to the Draa- Tafilalt oasis.
