Presse Release: Cooperation agreement between UINSUSKA and UMI

The University Moulay Ismail (UMI) of Meknès in Morocco and the International Islamic University Sultan Sharif Kasem (UINSUSKA) of Riau in Indonesia have agreed to cooperate in promoting comprehensive and collaborative activities in the field of research and education. On July 9th, representatives of the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding at the presidency of the University Moulay Ismail in Meknès, with the presence of his excellence Mr. Tosari Widjaja, the Indonesian Ambassador to Morocco.

  • Prof. Nazir Karim, president of the International Islamic University Sultan Sharif Kasem (UINSUSKA) of Riau in Indonesia

 

Under the scope of cooporation and mutual benifits among the UINSUSKA and UMI, the two universities attempted to make an official agreement which helps them to overcome current and future challenges, to improve teaching and trainning quality as well as to boost the inherited religion which is considered as the basic to establish strong country based on divergent fields in terms of knowledge, culture, arts and creation.

 

A group of Indonesian delegation headed by Mr.Nazir Karim & Mr.Tosari Widjaja (the Indonesian embassador) and Mr. Ahmed Lebrihi & the deans of each UMI faculty made a call to their official meeting with the objective to establish communicative and cultural cooperation among the two entities in addition to increasing their raltionship that goes hand in hand with all academic affairs.

UMI – University Moulay Ismail is a public owned institution for higher education and scientific research and is fully accredited and recognized by the Moroccan Ministry of Education. It was founded in October 1989 by a Royal Dahir. With its 8 Faculties/Schools, UMI offers a number of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral program options in the Humanities and Arts, Science and Engineering, Business Administration, Social Sciences and Law. With around 42000 enrolled students, UMI belongs to the most important universities in Morocco.
